What is NEO?
NEO is a cryptocurrency designed to build a scalable network of decentralized applications. It is a next-generation smart economy platform and the first Chinese blockchain project. NEO is a direct competitor of Ethereum and is often called 'Chinese Ethereum.' Similar to Ethereum, NEO is more than just a digital currency in the fact that it has an impact on the price predictions.
History of NEO
Neo was first launched as AntShares in 2014 by Da Hongfei and Erik Zhang. In June 2017 AntShares rebranded to NEO and has been called NEO ever since.
How to buy NEO?
To buy NEO, you will need to sign up for an exchange that lists NEO in one or more currency pairings. This is where you’ll receive and store your NEO.
Not many cryptocurrency exchanges allow the exchange of fiat currency to NEO, so the best way to buy NEO is to exchange for another cryptocurrency. If you already own a cryptocurrency that is listed in currency pairings with NEO, such as Ethereum (ETH) or Bitcoin (BTC), and then use it to buy NEO.
NEO vs Ethereum
NEO has often been called the Chinese Ethereum, and while both NEO and Ethereum are trying to serve the same market, there are many factors that they differ on.
There is a massive gap in the transaction speed between NEO and Ethereum, NEO can handle 10,000 transactions per second, and Ethereum can process 15 transactions per second.
